GCC is set up to undertake complete construction activities for industrial projects in the oil & gas, petrochemical, other industrial sectors and related infrastructure fields, including power & water. Based in Dammam, GCC has the capability to work throughout all areas of Saudi Arabia. Construction services comprise complete coverage of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines. Contracts experience ranges through lump sum construction plus certain LSTK, LSPB & EPC projects. Recent prior experience has incorporated construction projects within oil refineries, gas plants, petrochemical complexes, fertilizer plants and similar industrial projects all to exacting world class standards.
GCC have within the industrial contracting sphere built up a strong expertise in the specialist contracting field of pipelines. This experience has been accumulated over the years allowing participation in all aspects of pipeline work including cross country pipelines & associated projects. Our clients for such specialised work are primarily Saudi Aramco plus, SATORP, Ma’aden and all works are to similar exacting world level standards of quality and safety. Prior experience includes pipeline work within oil refineries, gas plants, petrochemical complexes, fertilizer plants and similar industrial construction projects.
In order to initiallly serve the diverse requirements of industrial & pipeline contracting GCC has built up a wide ranging fleet of heavy construction plant & equipment. The fleet meets the challenging demands of our key clients being both up to date & well maintained. The current requirements for existing GCC projects are well served & in addition GCC is fully capable of providing a full plant & equipment hire rental service.
GCC Engineering expertise has been built up via extensive involvement in complete & technically advanced projects in Saudi Arabia over a long period of time. Initially GCC undertook various LSTK & LSPB projects utilizing its own teams of Engineers to ensure full technical compliance with regard to design requirements, procurement, pre-commissioning and commissioning. Latterly GCC has moved into full EPC projects strengthening its Engineering group & building upon past experience.Saudi Council Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) License will allow GCC to further build Engineering excellence & reduce the need for any usage of third party engineering to that of truly specialist & specific process requirements. GCC is now moving to enhance the Engineering competence with an aim to ensure a full in-house capability to handle the wide range of EPC/LSTK related projects now being planned for KSA.
GCC has over the years established a well experienced group capable of undertaking the most complex of local & International procurement exercises serving industrial construction & related projects. Exacting technical standards must be maintained in order to comply with the complex requirements of GCC major Saudi clients including Saudi Aramco & SABIC. To meet & maintain this level of service GCC are alert to the latest technical innovations & use state of the art programmes. The Procurement Department has been one of the major strengths allowing GCC to expand construction & construction related activities. GCC has been awarded a contract from Aramco and TotalEnergies for the construction of the transfer pipelines for the $11 billion Amiral complex, a future world-scale petrochemicals facility expansion at the SATORP refinery.
A signing ceremony took place in Dharan, and attended by by Amin H. Nasser, Aramco president and CEO, Patrick Pouyanne, TotalEnergies chairman and CEO, Abdulaziz Al-Ajaji, GCC Managing Director, and Ahmed Al-Mohammadi, GCC CEO.
The signing ceremony was also attended by HE Won Hee-ryong, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea, government officials from Saudi Arabia, France and South Korea and company executives from Aramco, TotalEnergies and EPC firms.
The new complex aims to house one of the largest mixed-load steam crackers in the Gulf, with a capacity to produce 1,650 kilotons per annum of ethylene and other industrial gasses. This expansion is expected to attract more than $4 billion in additional investment in a variety of industrial sectors, including carbon fibers, lubes, drilling fluids, detergents, food additives, automotive parts and tires. It is also expected to create around 7,000 local direct and indirect jobs.
